University of Nairobi Offers EU-Funded STEM Scholarships for African Women

The University of Nairobi (UoN) is offering scholarships for women pursuing masters and PhD degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields.

The scholarships are funded by the European Union (EU) and are part of the GREEN-STEM program, which aims to support intra-African mobility for students.

The program is open to female students who are nationals and residents of African countries. Applicants must be registered or admitted to a master’s or PhD program at one of the four participating universities:

  • University of Nairobi, Kenya
  • University of Lagos, Nigeria
  • University of Rwanda, Rwanda
  • University of Witwatersrand, South Africa

Scholarship applications for full PhD programs are open until DECEMBER 1, 2024, 5:00 pm, EAT.

This scholarship program is a great opportunity for women in Africa to further their education in STEM fields. By increasing the number of women in STEM, we can help to solve some of the world’s most pressing challenges.
